	Professor Fang Gao is Professor and Head of the Academic Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain. She is also the Director of the West Midlands Critical Care Research Network. Fang was first appointed as a Consultant at Heartlands in 1997, having completed her postgraduate clinical and research training in London, Cardiff and the Midlands. Fang was appointed a Professor at the University of Warwick in 2006. Fang’s research interests are sepsis, ARDS and thoracic anaesthesia.
	Dr Gavin Perkins is an Associate Professor in Critical Care and Resuscitation at the University of Warwick and Honorary Consultant Physician at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. He is currently appointed as a Department of Health National Institute of Health Research Clinician Scientist. Gavin completed his MD thesis at the University of Birmingham on the evaluation and treatment of patients with acute lung injury / ARDS. His research interests are health services research (clinical trials), acute lung injury / ARDS and resuscitation.
	Teresa Melody is the Academic Department Manager. Teresa is responsible for the day to day running of the department, staff management and finances. She has been employed by the trust for 23 years and has a nursing background. She has been conducting Research for 15 years with experience in Respiratory and Critical Care Multicentre studies. Her main interest is in Sepsis.
